#BODY SHAMING
Most of us are potential victims of 'body shaming'-the widespread phenomenon of receiving cruel feedback when our bodies don't meet the unrealistic beauty standards of our time .We spend our time lost in self critical thoughts, despising our body and comparing ourselves unfavorably to others. We don't realize, that the body that we have,is an amazing and beautiful thing. We have organs working non stop to keep us alive and to make sure we are healthy, but we don't respect that instead we shame it.As a society we have a certain set of ridiculous ideals about what men and women are supposed to look like.Few people realize just how ridiculous and unrealistic these ideals are.The worst thing that media does is that it tells men and women that they are not okay the way they look now in order for them to buy their beauty products, weight loss items etc.No longer body shaming is just in media,it has now gone to real people in peoples day to day lives, telling them that they are okay with the way they look.
Body shaming:Inappropriate negative statements and attitudes toward another persons weight or size.
"too fat"
"too skinny"
"get on a diet"
"she probably starves herself"
All it takes is one negative statement to get a person thinking negatively and pushing them towards a dark hole of self-hatred.Whether it was a joke, whether it was said by a loved one,the root of self-hatred is an external environment. We have all heard it before. The Aunt at the family gathering"You're looking a tad bit plum, dear".The seemingly joking friend"You're so skinny,if I blew at you you'd probably fly away".Nobody recognizes how these little comments here and there lead to a slippery slope that is detrimental towards ones self esteem.
In a survey of adolescents in grades 9 to 12,90% of teens are unhappy with there body shape. There are various reasons why people of my age are targeted, including:we're too young to realize what's 'right or 'wrong' for our health;we're so easily influenced by celebrities and the media;we overthink about the other people's judgments about us and many of us don't even understand what's incorrect in saying,"You aren't fat,you are beautiful."
Stop fat shaming, skinny shaming,skinny-fat shaming and athletically built shaming
because it is not okay.Everyone has a different type of a body, everyone should be allowed to view and love themselves without having to hear persuasive and dangerous opinion of others.
I know that people are always going to have their opinion
about how somebody looks but that doesn't mean they have to tell that person, especially if it is negative.Just let that person do their thing, let them be happy with who they are and the body they are born with.It doesn't effect you,so don't let what you think affect them.
LOVE YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE AND LET OTHERS DO THE SAME.
Always remember no two bodies are the same.......Jut be happy and accept yourself......Every morning when you wake up,firstly,go up to the mirror and appreciate yourself......appreciate your body, pamper yourself.Every time when you look yourself into the mirror just say to yourself that 'You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life'.
Don't let anyone's saying affect you.Love yourself and BE SHAMELESS......
#BE SHAMELESS NOW,ENJOY THIS GUYS.....
